Yesterday I received an email from my host father's co-worker. She told me about my host family and where they would meet me. I am arranged to leave on the 23rd of August and arrive in Japan on the 24th. I'm so excited to meet them. Anyway it turned out that it was the co-workers daughter, Mai, who had written the email (in English). She is twenty years old and hopes to become my friend! I hope so too! My host family doesn't speak much English so it will be difficult to live with them but I'm up for the challenge.
On August 3rd, I received a package from my class in Japan! It was so nice. They made an introduction booklet with their pictures and a message for me. I'm so excited to meet everyone. I sent a letter back today so I hope they get it soon.
On Tuesday it was my birthday. I turned 18! It was a kind of sad day. I will be back for my next birthday but it was still melancholic. Anyway I got many essential things for my trip. I finally got my plane ticket, luggage, yen, a few games for my new DS lite (which I bought a few days prior; it is pink!!), money and an HD pocket camera! It was really nice. It was just a small get together with my family and two best friends. My mom made my favourite meal; Parmesan chicken, homemade Caesar salad, and garlic bread. For dessert ice cream cake. It was so yummy and I can't wait to have it when I get back. Soon we will have another family get together for my going away party along with celebrations of all the August birthdays (seriously there is like 10 people in my family with birthdays this month).
